It seems that every province of Thailand must have a 'Big Buddha', and Phuket is no exception. Still under construction is this 30 metre high image of the Buddha, gazing down on Phuket town. Though uncompleted it is a major tourist destination, both for Thais and for foreigners.
Most Thai Buddhist facilities have more than a few bells for visitors to ring, and the Big Buddha of Phuket follows this tradition. There is but one bell on the site now, but it is big and it can be rung. I would estimate close to a metre high. It is situated directly in front of the Buddha.
