And this one is on the old Great North Road, a road that became a major route between London and York. However, it was not built that way, but rather as a series of turnpikes that eventually joined up. Road pricing seems to be nothing new.
Where there is a 'Coach and Horses', there is likely to have been stabling for horses AND people.
