Katie's Playground is in Royal Lake Park, very near the entrance and parking lot off Gainsborough Dr. It is located along the hike and bike path, between the tennis court and the open air basketball court. There is a public restroom available at the edge of the parking area. This public playground is dedicated to Katherine Rose Thelin and was sponsored by her family, friends and the community. The park is open from dawn till dusk year round, but during the winter when snow covers the equipment, it may be difficult to use until the snow melts. There are swings sets, several slides, and various objects for climbing. Lots of open space between and around the swings and slides where kids can run and play on their own.
