This war memorial is in the south section of Davenport Cemetery, all by itself.

Davenport Cemetery is a Town-operated cemetery located 1.25 miles west of Davenport off Route 66 at 3490 Road. This is a medium-sized cemetery with about 1000 burials.
The gravel driveways form a circle, with north-south and east-west bisecting drives. At the south of the cemetery, where there are no burials yet, stands a granite monument and a single flagpole. There are no paths leading to the monument. It sits out in the grass by itself.
The monument is granite, about 30 inches across and about 5 ft. high, with a slanted top. The wording on this slant reads: "Dedicated to the men and women who served their country in its hour of need." There is no indication as to who placed this monument, or when.
On the front of the monument is a black etched seal with an eagle. At some point in the future, as the cemetery is more widely plotted, this monument will no doubt be provided with walkways. Nevertheless, any memorial to our brave men and women veterans is a welcomed sight.
