The gasometer is situated off Twibwell Street in Barnsley. It can be viewed from the car park adjacent the Comet Electrical Store. At the time of taking the photograph it was nearly full. I have not been able to find much information except a mention on a geographical site of the foundation being dug out in 1905-1910.
