Dr. Wilson A. Foskett began his medical practice in White Bird in 1897. For more than 20 years he was known as the Salmon River Physician making his calls by horseback and later by car. On April 14, 1924, Dr. Foskett died in an auto accident when his car rolled into the Salmon River near here.
