This is one of those pub signs that has an obvious link between the name and the location.
The sign itself (no, that isn't just a bad photo), has a distinctly homespun flavour to it. Depicting a traditionally painted metal pitcher, the subject of a black pitcher on a black background may not have been the wisest.
