Along the walkway leading into the Texas Forestry Museum are a number of pieces of petrified wood, something that most people probably never even notice, or if they do, they think they are just rocks. It is interesting that the petrified logs extend an edge that starts with with actual wood at the base of the steps.
Inside the museum there is an area where additional samples of petrified wood are displayed, but in neither case is there much, if any information given about the specimens.
