The Wilkerson Pass Visitors Center is the Gateway to the South Park region of central Colorado. Their saying: "Where the Mountains Meet the Plains"
Yes there really is a South Park in Colorado (If you watch the TV show)- Not a town but a region
Just south of the Visitors Center is the Fenced Overlook of the South Park Valley region. You are looking down from the western edge of Pike National Forest, actually in between the 10,460 foot peak of Badger Mountain (to the NW) and the 10,000 foot peak of the mountain know as the Pulverizor (to the South) and
obviously at Wilkerson Pass, which leads down into the South Park Region.
This Scenic Overlook is referenced on Yahoo Travel at this
...LINK... under the directions heading as well as a listing on
Wildernet which also states there is a 1.1 mile trail starting at this Scenic Overlook.
This short easy walking trail is well worth the walk.
