Als kulturellen Anziehungspunkt ersten Ranges hat Ministerpräsident Peter Harry Carstensen das neue NordseeMuseum in Husum bezeichnet. "Wie Phoenix aus der Asche steht das traditionsreiche Nissen-Haus als modernes NordseeMuseum auf und lädt ein, die Kulturlandschaft der Nordsee kennen zu lernen", sagte Carstensen am 26. März 2007 zur Wiedereröffnung des Museums in Husum.
