CHARLES EVANS HUGHES. CHIEF JUSTICE OF THE U.S. FIRST STUDIED LAW (1881-1882) NEAR THIS SPOT WITH W.M. GLEASON WHILE TEACHING SCHOOL AT DELAWARE ACADEMY.

(This is a local history marker and not part of the State Educatio list.) Erected by the Delaware Couty Bar Association on Law Day, May 1, 1959.

This marker os located on Delhi's Village Square which is one of the prettiest squares in the state. The square was illustrated on the July 1951 cover of the Saturday Evening post. For a live view go to: (visit link)
