There are many trails covering Mount Taejo, on the east edge of the city of Cheonan, Korea. This one begins on the west side of the mountain and leads to the summit.

Access to this trail head is tricky. Turn right while north bound on Route 1 in Cheonan. (Look for a sign to Chung Song Temple - 청송사 ). It is a narrow over pass crossing IC-1 with a sharp turn, usually made narrower by parked cars. Another sharp turn brings you to a very small parking area just below the Temple, and the trail head with a large guide map sign and restrooms.
The trail is gradual near the bottom, but has steeper portions as it nears the summit 9 kilometers away. It is a peaceful walk, and a well-maintained trail with resting spots, drinking water, and exercise stops along the way (just in case you want to get in a few sit-ups or spend a few minutes on the parallel bars).
There are even some geocaches near the trail, if you need another diversion.
