?The Llywel church dates to early times as early as the 6th century with it becoming St Davids in 1203 prior to that time it was dedicated to three saints, David, Darn (Paternus) and Teilo.
The current church is listed as a Grade I building and dates mostly to the 15th century however the tower dates to the 14th century. The architectural style of the church is predominately Late Perpendicular of about the 1480s. Some restorative work was done to the church during the 1800s.
The churchyard cemetery surrounds the church. The older graves are located on the southside of the church. The earliest grave dates to 1740 with several in the late 18th century. The graves on the northside of the church date mainly to the late 19th and the 20th century.
