The Mississippi River at Clarksville Missouri is the winter home for many Eagles in the winter months. The city sponsors Eagle Days and even sets up spotting scopes at the River Front City Park during the last week in January.
This is notable for winter Bald Eagle watching due to its proximity to Locks and Dam #24. The dam keeps the water free of ice so the water remains open for the eagles to find fish during the cold weather.
