This bell cote was erected when the church was rebuilt in the C14. It used to hold the Sanctus Bell which was rung when the host was elevated during the Communion Service to indicate to those outside that the Prayer of Consecration was being said.
It has not held a bell for over 400 years, and is still in good condition.
