The memorial is near the recreation building. Do not visit at night. Surrounding the very simple memorial is a playground, swings, fountain (right next to it) as well as basketball courts and tennis courts. At the bottom of the park is a Civil War Memorial.

The memorial can be accessed from East Godfrey Avenue (closest) or from Champlost Street (little further away). Both offer street-side parking. The park is open from dawn to dusk.
