The Citizen Pottawatomie Nation (CPN) Cultural Heritage Museum is located at 1899 S. Gordon Cooper Drive (Highway 18), south of Shawnee. The Center's mission is to "educate tribal members and the public on the historical and contemporary aspects of the tribe through the acquisition, preservation, exhibition, and exploration of the diverse materials pertaining to the culture and traditions of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation.“

The museum contains many artifacts of past and present tribal life, as well as a Research Library and Archives, Family Research Center, and a Veteran's Wall of Honor describing the accomplishments of Tribal veterans. The center also keeps the Tribal Rolls.

A large meeting hall called "The Long Room" can seat 600 for dining, or 900 in theater-type seating. The hall is the site for many local functions, and is also the meeting place for the annual General Council in June.

All museum collections, archives and library materials are currently being ditigally converted so they will be available online.
