A short drive from Odessa, there is a new museum with displays about meteors from around the world. The self guided walking tour has signs that explain what you are seeing at each stop. Because of the main crater's relatively small size, 550 feet in diameter, and shallow depth, less than 10 feet below the surrounding surface, it is quite accessible for most people, just don't expect to stand and stare far down into an enormous hole in the earth.
