May Kaidees ('kai dees' translates as 'good sell', so I am informed) is located near the 'Ethos' vegetarian restaurant (WMA36D). So, when you reach this small street, you will have a choice of two top vegetarian restaurants (note, there is a 3rd restaurant which advertises with a sign claiming: 'Thai and Vegetarian', however, a quick perusal of this menu will show very little vegetarian. I suspect this restaurant is attempting to entice in vegetarians looking for a veg restaurant (capitalism !) ).
May Kaidees is Thai owned and concentrates on vegetarian versions of Thai dishes. By good fortune I visited on a Saturday night, when there is a buffet for 120 Baht (~us$4), plus drinks. As I had not eaten for 12 hours, and had no good vegetarian food for several days I indulged. It was all very good. (I also tipped to a total of 200 baht, generous guy that I am). The brown rice was steamed to perfection, and a cup of organic Korat (a region in north, central Thailand) coffee was just how I liked my coffee—strong and bitter. After several deserts, I walked contentedly back to my hotel.
The menu (in the gallery) is not overly large, but has a sufficient range of options. Recommended. Cooking lessons are also available.
There is a #2 May Kaidees approximately 1km north. There now also seems to be a breakfast 'nook', small restaurant, an offshoot of #3, opposite the Ethos restaurant, ummm.

2 minutes walk from Khaosan Road.
Go to end of Khaosan Road (Burger King).
Go Left about 50 meters and cross over the road at silver shops.
Walk down the alleyway.
Turn right, walk 20m.
