Gleeon was founded in 1900 with a population growing to around 500. A Post Office was opened on 10/15/1900. This town located on the South West side of the Dragoon Mountains survived one major fire. The low price of copper during the decline of WW II spelled the end of good times for Gleeson. The post office closed in 1939. A group of citizens that have moved into the area have founded a preservation group for the old town. They have somewhat restored the old jail.
