This A&W is located along U.S. Highway 2 in the city of Iron River, WI. Iron River is in a scenic northwoods area of Wisconsin. This A&W has been here for years, 55 years to be exact, so it is an oldie but goodie. It has had a few remodels over the years. It is the original building with window service in the front, drive up on the west side and now a new drive through. It features all of the A&W goodies and it like taking a step into the past. I visited it while on a family reunion trip, and was so excited it was open in early November. They are going to try the later season and see how it works. This is what I remember A&Ws to be. It is so much more fun than the gas station walkups.
