Singing Man
Jonathon Borofsky
1994

Standing 18 feet, the "Singing Man" is quite an impressive work, with its low-pitched "singing" and movable mouth.

There are a number of sculptures around the grounds of Seoul's Grand Park near the National Museum of Contemporary Art. Also in this park is the National Science Museum a zoo, and the amusement park, Seoul Land." It is easily accessible by subway line number 4, stop 437.

Jonothan Borofsky was born in 1942 and graduated from Carnegie-Mellon, living in Boston and later in Maine. His large animated sculptures are sought after around the world.

On of his most noted series is the "Hammering Man," a tribute to the common working people. The largest, standing 72 feet tall, was commissioned for an insurance company in Seoul, Korea, topping the previous one in Frankfort, Germany, by 2 feet.

An overview and details of his work can be found on the personal web site of Jonathan Borofsk.
