The town park in Clay City has a very nice War Memorial as the anchor display.
It consist of three slabs of black granite etched with the names of some of those who served.
The memorial is dedicated to all who served in all wars. But it list only names from the Civil War, and a few veterans from WWII.
Some of the names are followed by the dates that they must have been killed. There is no indication of why some names are dated and others are not.
Still this is a nice memorial in a small town.
