When erected this marble headstone was on the grave of Henry Sydney Melsom, it later had the addition of a plaque, also in marble, commemorating Emma Annie, the wife of H.J.J.Melsom.

From the iconography, it would appear that Henry died at sea.

Some of the lead lettering has become detatched from the marble leaving only the mounting holes and a ghost image.
Headstone/Monument Text:
Henry Sydney Melsom, Born May 24th 1868, Died Nov. 29th 1891. Also Emma Annie, the Beloved Wife of H.J.J.Melsom, Who Died 24th Nov 1908. Aged 66 Years. "When the soft dews of kindly sleep my wearied eyelids gently steep, be my last thought, how sweet to rest for ever on my Saviour's breast."
