The High Peaks welcome center is located between exits 29 and 30 on the Northbound Adirondack Northway (aka Interstate 87). This building was completed in 2002 and received the 2002 “Excellence in Highway Design” Merit Award for Highway-Related Projects by the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration.
The Moose Weathervane reflects the Moose that are native to the Adirondacks. We did not see any in our trip here, but we would have like to have seen some.
