This is the very old cemetery in Bentpath a short distance away from Westerkirk Parish Church, in Dumfries and Galloway. There are no small headstones. All are around six feet high and made from local sandstone. Grade B listed site.

Westerkirk Old Churchyard contains many notable headstones. One by Thomas Telford in memory of his father and brother, who are from this area. see Nearby Waymarks. Over shadowing the graveyard is the fine Johnstone Mausoleum with its Doric columns and new lead domed roof.
There are over 200 graves here.

Visit during daylight hours. Parking on the access road.
