Wandering around the hillside trails
Its easy to wonder if you've misturned
This sign will set you straight again
Where you are, you just have learned.

The Monument Hill/Kreisch Brewery Historic Sites hold the monument and tomb of two related Texas War of Independence casualties -- the majority of the 36 from the 1842 "Dawson Massacre" near San Antonio, and 17 of the Mier Expedition's "Black Bean Death Lottery." It also features the Kreische House and Brewery -- rather more cheery local history. (for details see nearby waymarks)

There are several trails leading over the Oakville Escarpment -- and we were relieved to learn we had not misturned on our way up from the Brewery when we found this sign.
