Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago (as of 1989, named Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago) survey mark disk, found in Cook County Forest Preserve land in/near Rosemont, Illinois. The disk is on a large poured concrete block, near what I guess might be access to underground works of some sort. There are also some things that I think might be electric pump housings. The disk is stamped with the label QD-58.

The marker is located in the Dam Number 4 Forest Preserve, east of the Des Plaines River, west of East River Road, north of Higgins Road and south of Devon Avenue. The easiest approach is probably along a rough gravel road (blocked to vehicles) running north from Higgins Road just east of the Des Plaines River. An alternate approach would be from the southeast corner, where there is a bike trail which would take one part of the way toward the mark.

I found this mark while bushwacking toward a geocache, namely NIAGARA FALLS, NOT (GCNJ5N), which is not far away.
