The city hall makes up part of the Commerce civic center. The building itself was built in 1964 and designed by the firm Anthony and Langford. The building is simple. The front section of the building, with its steps leading to the entrance is currently closed. The new entrance is located on the side by the parking lot. Behind the facility is a city park.
The city is mostly an industrious city. The city has a population for 12,568. The city has almost 7 miles square. Commerce is officially known as the "City of Commerce" to distinguish it from the common noun of commerce.
