Jonathan Cooper

Jonathan Cooper was born in 1758 in Somerset County, Maryland. During the Revolutionary War, he served from Pennsylvania as a drummer. After the war he moved first to Kentucky. He moved to Illinois settling southwest of Jerseyville in 1835. He died August 10, 1845.

James Falkner, another Revolutionary War veteran from Virginia is also reportly buried in this small cemetery. There is not a grave marker for James Falkner though there are markers for other members of the Falkner family.

This cemetery is on private property accessed with permission.
