This bench has carved fox or coyote bases. There's not enough information to be sure which, although I lean towards "fox" since it's not depicted in a typical coyote howl.

There are three benches in this bluff-top park which are listed sculptures by the artist Mary Fuller. When her sculpture was originally placed, she made the bench seat and back as well as the bases, but only the bases have survived (seats and backs having been replaced by the parks department). They are a mixture of vermiculite, sand, and cement which she carved with a rasp or a knife.

The three benches portray three different totemic animals which were native to this area.
