Schweinfurt ist eine kreisfreie Stadt im bayerischen Bezirk Unterfranken. Vom 12. Jahrhundert bis 1802 war Schweinfurt eine Reichsstadt. Sie liegt in der Region Main-Rhön und ist die drittgrößte Stadt in Unterfranken.
Das Renaissance-Rathaus entstand im 16. Jahrhundert. Es ist noch heute Sitz der städtischen Verwaltung.
Schweinfurt is a city in the Lower Franconia region of Bavaria in Germany, 27 km northeast of Wuerzburg. A document from 1282 signed by King Rudolf I of Habsburg states that Schweinfurt was a free city within the Holy Roman Empire. At least since then the known coat of arms of Schweinfurt is an imperial white eagle.
The Renaissance city hall was built in the 16th century.
