This is an easy one-mile hike from the clearly-marked trailhead on the Glacier Point Road. However, use caution as you approach the edge, as there are three major fissures in Taft Point with the main trail going within a footstep of the fissures. There is a short span of guardrail at the prow of the cliff overhanging the valley, with a dizzying view both across and down.
There is no water available at the trailhead or along the trail (unless Sentinel Creek is flowing, and then only drink after filtering it). There are plenty of seat-sized rocks for taking a moment's rest at the Point.
