The Royal University of Phnom Penh is located ~5kms to the west of the city from the Mekong, along the busy Confederation de la Russie (the streets of Phnom Penh have an ideologically bewildering range). It is a publicly funded university, where students do have to pay something towards their tuition fees, but with a range of scholarships.
The university teaches a gratifyingly wide range of courses. When I visited in early September the new academic year was just getting underway, with busy crowds of young people clutching books, pen and papers. The campus grounds looked a little worn (It would have seen a great deal over the years), but also looked entirely serviceable. There was a small amount of new construction underway.
The university consists of three campuses. The waymark was made at the main campus, there is an adjoining language school (in gallery), and, a kilometre further west is the Humanities campus (which I did not have time to visit).
