Hun Sen Park is an extended park on the Mekong River, in Phnom Penh. It a major tourist and recreational area (casino, 5 star restaurants). It also contains a statue of a prominent Khmer literary figure Uk Ou (Krom Nguy), (1865-1936).
During his career Krom Nguy wrote numerous poems, which are now part of the Khmer cultural landscape, and taught to Khmer school children. He was accomplished as a singer, an orator, and skilled at playing the Khmer stringed instrument a Kse Deav.
The statue shows Krom Nguy sitting on a plinth, on either side is an elephant. Four plaques, in Khmer, are on each side of the plinth. There is a long walkway to the statue. The statue dominates the small park area.
