A very old wooden headstone, in an old cemetery amongst a scattering of historic graves, marks a small childs grave in a grassy paddock. This cemetery lies in the countryside near Raurimu, the Railway Spiral town dating around the late 1800s.

The old wooden headstone, possibly Totara wood, is hand crafted, weathered and unreadable. It appears to be a small grave marked out by wooden edging, possibly a child or baby, and probably dated around the 1860s similar to the surrounding old gravestones. The wooden marker has deteriorated severely and is now propped against a fence post. The cemetery is grassland, where sheep graze, and there are some very old worn headstones dating around 1850 and some unmarked graves which are only recognizable by the raised grassed mounds.
Date of Birth: Unreadable

Date of Death: Unreadable but possibly around 1860.
