The Becket Arts Center has had a checkered carrer. This Greek Revival building was built in 1855 because the North Becket district had grown so large it needed a central school. Seminary Hall, as it was called then, functioned as a central school until 1940. Then, the American Legion moved in from 1946 till 1975. Finally, in 1978, the Becket Arts Center moved into the building. Th Arts Center holds a variety of classes for all ages, has a dedicated pottery studio and holds displays for many area artists.
