Puhoi has began fundraising towards a new fire station – its appliances are currently secured in a fenced yard with no weather protection. The two fire engines are under a roof in the yard of the local garage.
There are another two appliances, partially dismanteled, in another corner of the yard...probably spare parts!
Previous to this funraising effert they were working to fund new uniforms. They urgently needed regulation Level Two fire fighting equipment to help them step up to breathing apparatus training and gain recognised fire fighter status. A grant from the Lion Foundation helped them achieve this goal.
