A Civil War era cannon on display in Pioneer Park in Walla Walla. On one side of the pedestal is carved, "The gratitude of one's country is the greatest reward its defender can receive." On the other side, "This pedestal erected by the City of Walla Walla and dedicated May 30th A.D. 1905 to the memory of members of A. Lincoln Post No 4 G A R".
In the century since then, countless children (of all ages) have climbed on this cannon and many a time it has been used to hide the flag in game of Capture the Flag.
