The New Plymouth Mountain Bikers Club have developed an excellent recreational area of MTB tracks in the Lake Mangamahoe Forest off Plantation Road.

This is a forestry area and logging occurs from time to time so some tracks may be unavailable. However it is a large area and there are many tracks of various grades from beginner upwards, all tracks are constantly being worked on and improved during working bees by the New Plymouth Mountain Bikers Club.

Plenty of parking areas are provided at the entrance gate on Plantation Road, off Junction Road south of Lake Mangamahoe.

This scenic forest area includes many tracks, all signposted and graded. Old logging roads, trails and MTB single tracks winding through the trees, some easy and flat for beginners and some steep downhills for the experienced riders! See map link below.
