Der Wildpark Schweinfurt wurde im Stadtwald von Schweinfurt als Naherholungsgebiet mit einigen Tiergehegen von 1962 bis 1977 angelegt und ist seither immer mehr vergößert worden. Mittlerweile finden sich auf einer Fläche von 18 ha rund 50 Tierarten mit 500 Tieren aus Deutschland und anderen Ländern. Das Maskottchen des Tierparks ist der Elch, außerdem gibt es Luchse, Wild, Rinder, Ziegen, Schafe, Schweine, Esel, einige Eulenarten, Vogelvolieren usw., sowie ein Streichelgehege, großzügig angelegte Spielplätze und einen Minigolfplatz. Diverse Veranstaltungen wie Bürgerfest und Waldweihnacht werden im Wildpark abgehalten.
Der Wildpark ist ganzjährig bei freiem Eintritt geöffnet, die Minigolfbahn kann von April bis Mitte Oktober genutzt werden.
Im Informationszentrum mit Waldschänke sind Eis, Getränke, kleine Snacks, Souvenirs und Informationsmaterial erhältlich. Die Waldschänke ist Montag bis Freitag ab 13:30 Uhr, am Wochenende ab 12:00 Uhr geöffnet.
The game park Schweinfurt was built from 1962 - 1977 as a local holiday area and has been enhanced constantly. Today you will find about 50 species with 500 animals from Germany and other countries on an area of 18 hectare. The mascot of the game parks is the elk, but there are also lynx, deer, cattle, goats, sheep, wild sows, donkeys, owls, aviaries and so on, also playgrounds and a mini golf area. Events like citizen fests and the forrest christmas take place here. The game park is open year round (admission free), the mini golf area can be used from April to October. In the game park info center a shop is located where you can buy ice, beverages, snacks and souvenirs and where you can get info flyers. The shop is open from 13:30 till about 18:30 hrs Monday - Friday and from 12:00 - 18:30 hrs. at the weekend.
