The village's first Baptist chapel was built in 1710, known as the Old Meeting House. The stone inscription on the building reads CHURCH FORMED 1670, indicating the congregation pre-dates the present building.

The chapel was rebuilt in 1840 and restored in 1881. John Bunyan preached here at times, apparently riding his horse from Bedford for the occasion.

Next to the chapel is a former school. The building has a stone roundel with the inscription ERECTED 1848.
