Dad’s Root Beer, one of America’s most popular soft drinks, was developed in Chicago in February, 1937. The bottling plant (with its sign) was a fixture on Chicago's northwest side.

When the plant moved to Indiana, the site was redeveloped into condos. The good old sign that used to be visible from the nearby Eden's Expressway is long gone. The building is located on a narrow street that dead ends into the Northwestern train tracks, so it is tough to get good photos.
Learn more about Dad's from their site (

I'm getting thirsty - time to get a Dad's!
