Wat Phai Lom is one of the older Wats, on the eastern side of the town of Chanthaburi. It covers a large area, with its component buildings widely separated. The Wat is known for its early murals of 'farang' (westerners), in Thailand, unfortunately, when I visited the Wat was undergoing a major renovation, and these could not be seen.
The Wat has the usual range of Thai Buddhist facilities. A sermon hall, an ordination hall, quarters for monks, and a crematorium.
