This is one of many granite posts used to mark points on the boundary lines between towns in Massachusetts, in this case, the Town of Hamilton and the Town of Wenham. The letters "H" (for Hamilton) and "W" (for Wenham) are inscribed on opposite sides. The date (1905) is inscribed on a third side. It is approximately eight inches square and three feet high.

The marker is located on the northeast side of Walnut Road, about 20 yards east of a yellow fire plug. There is a hemlock hedge just behind it.

The next adjacent marker heading northwest is Hamilton-Wenham 1, 0.3 miles.
The next adjacent marker heading southeast is Hamilton-Wenham F, 1.1 miles.
