"Gallman Road Bridge" St. Mary's River, Union Township, Mercer County, Ohio
This bridge is fabricated with cast iron, wrought iron, and steel members. It is a through truss design and is referred to as a "Whipple" or "Pratt" double intersecting bridge. It was built in 1887 by the Columbus (sic) Bridge Company of Dayton.
The bridge was scheduled for demolition so the engineer and commissioners of Mercer County made it available to the Thomas J Evans Foundation. The installation over Raccoon Creek is the final connecting link of the Johnstown, Alexandria, Granville, and Newark bicycle and recreation Trail.
