Panorama, when I visited in march 2006, I would have to say is possibly one of the more challenging of the major ski resorts. It is a fairly large area and offers lots of black diamond and double black diamond runs for those on break neck missions as well as offering blue ad a few green runs for the less ambitious or skilled. I personally found the green selection of runs to be a bit minimal in amounts and so is why I advocate this as a hill for the more experienced. I did not do any of the black runs myself such as Taynton Bowl - but I am lead to believe that they are quite the challenge for those of that skill and ride level. Myself, I only ventured as far as blue runs. I understand that Panorama is not overly endowed with copious amounts of snow powder and relies primarily on what it can make and groom - but someone else may want to dispute that statement if I am wrong. Panorama has been moving towards promoting itself as a very family orientated type of place in recent times and also has what I can attest to as 'excellent child care services' for those who require as much with their kiddies. The chalet has pretty good food as well as rentals, souvenir and clothing shops as well as bar facilities. At this time of writing there was some major construction going on in building condos/units for sale I believe and if you want one you won't get any change out of a half million for a 1 bedroom unit. The village has other activities such as a Wolf center which I did not visit at my time there. 30 minutes away is the Fairmont Hot Springs and further up is the Radium Hot Springs. Scenery and photo opportunities are endless with the area having quite a lot going on throughout summer and winter including the mountain itself.
