Located in Dunn's Park, a moderate sized municipal park in the small South Jersey town of Carney's point, this is named The Freedom Tree, and has been dedicated specifically to Capt. Phillip Mascari and in general to all prisoners of war and soldiers missing in action.

I tried researching Capt. Mascari, but was only able to find a Major Mascari from Essex County. I am assuming this may be the same soldier, but cannot find the connection to Carney's Point in Salem County.

The text of the marker reads:

The Freedom Tree with the vision of universal freedom for all mankind this tree is dedicated to Capt. Phillip Mascari and all prisoners of war and missing in action 1975

Location of the tree: In the park, near the gazebo.

Type of tree: Not listed
