This is the older of two Meeting Houses in Greenwich, NJ. This meeting house was built in 1771, near the banks of the Cohansey River, only yards from the site of the Tea Burning in 1774.

While this meeting house if still active, the congregation built a second in 1835 farther from the river, and more toward the end of town and the other religious structures there. This meeting house is used for meetings from September 15 to June 15 each year. The "new" meeting house is used in the summer months.

There appears to be no great modernization in the building, which may contribute to its not being used in the summer. Also, on the day I visited, the site was overrun with the infamous Jersey greenhead flies, which could also be a great deterrent!
