Buriram is a medium sized rural town in north east Thailand. Overlooking the town to the south is a 'Big Buddha', a 20m high gold Buddha statue gazing benevolently towards the town. From this point there is also a lookout area where visitors can see the town of Buriram.
A combination of distance and the small size of the town makes for a not overly exciting view of the city, but it is the best view of Buriram obtainable.
To reach this spot travel south from Buriram, ~6kms, on route 219. The golden Buddha is easily spotted before you reach the turnoff. The Buddha himself is worth seeing, as well as the other Buddhist sites at this location.

"khao" is the Thai word for mountain, so this is Kradong mountain.
